What Happens During a Crypto Josh In-Home Security Visit

A lot of people wonder what an in-home crypto security visit actually looks like before they book one. They imagine something intimidating, or they worry about a sales pitch. Here is an honest, detailed walkthrough of exactly what happens from the moment I arrive to the moment I leave.

Before the Visit: A Short Intake Call

Every in-home visit begins with a short free consultation call — typically 15 minutes. This is where I learn where you are: Do you already have crypto or are you just starting? Are you on an exchange or in self-custody? Have you had any security concerns or suspicious contacts? What are you trying to accomplish?

This call lets me tailor the visit to your situation so we are not spending your paid time covering ground that is not relevant to you. It also determines which package is the right fit and whether you need anything special prepared before I arrive.

The Visit Itself: Education First, Setup Second

I arrive at your home — usually with about 2–3 hours scheduled. The first 30–45 minutes is always educational. Before we touch any device or hardware wallet I want to make sure you understand the principles behind what we are doing. Why self-custody matters. What a seed phrase is and why its physical security is paramount. How addresses work. What two-factor authentication does and why authenticator apps are safer than SMS.

We then move to setup. Depending on your package this might include selecting and configuring a hardware wallet from scratch, migrating crypto from an exchange to self-custody, setting up your password manager, configuring your dedicated clean browser profile, completing your Digital Asset Profile document, and setting up your seed phrase backup in a secure location.

The Handoff: You Know What You Have and Why

At the end of the visit you will have a completely set up security system. More importantly you will understand every component of it — not because I told you to trust me, but because we walked through each element together and you asked questions until you were satisfied. The goal is for you to be able to maintain your own security going forward, not to create dependency on me.

After the visit I am available by phone and email for follow-up questions. Clients with ongoing support packages receive regular threat briefings and can call me directly when something feels off.
